A Stained Purpose

Housing is among the top priorities in the current development trend of Addis Abeba. Slow production rate, consistently rising demand, high land prices are among the factors contributing to the shortage of housing.

Condominium housing are seen as a home. An only hope for life in the consistently gentrifying city while others see it as a long term investment; the prices of condominium housing is constantly on the rise the minute they are completed. This rise of price is not slow.

If condominiums are made for people to live in, why is it being sold to those with a fatter wallet? Is the purpose of housing projects stained or do some of us have a tainted perception of it?
